What Is Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are Google's attempt to put numbers on a feeling, the feeling of a page that loads fast, responds quickly, and does not jump around while you read it. Three metrics, one goal. Do not annoy the user.

The short version

Core Web Vitals are a set of metrics Google uses to measure real world page experience, focusing on loading performance, interactivity, and visual stability. They feed into how Google assesses page experience.

The three metrics

  • Loading, how quickly the main content appears

  • Interactivity, how fast the page responds to input

  • Visual stability, how much the layout shifts while loading

Why they matter

Good scores mean a smoother experience, which supports both rankings and conversions. Hitting them reliably is usually a front end and build job, so we treat it as part of website development and design rather than a quick patch.

FAQ

Will good Core Web Vitals alone get me ranked?

No. They are one part of page experience, not a substitute for relevant content and authority. But poor scores can hold an otherwise good page back.
